The best way to get to know Ashlee is over a drink – coffee, beer or even whiskey! A combination of sass, creativity and passion, Ashlee can be relied on for her unique ideas mixed with a thoughtful logistical approach which brings out the best in every event and fundraising program. Ashlee keeps the cause in focus while ensuring the guest experience is exceptional to build traction with the event, awareness for the organization and ultimately raise more money for those in need.
After working in corporate events, then seven years of event fundraising at a hospital foundation, Ashlee developed Our Forté Events with business partner Jennifer to follow dreams of working for herself and ultimately finding more balance in life.
When Ashlee isn’t collaborating with her favourite suppliers (you know who you are), brainstorming new solutions for clients with Jennifer, or keeping clients and their events on track she can be found negotiating meal-time with her young son Miller, hiking the Bruce Trail with her wife Kate and feeding her never full (but handsome) golden retriever.
Her poker face may be a work in progress but clients can count on Ashlee for her honesty, integrity and event execution skills. Ashlee takes pride in offering clients new solutions, decreasing their stress and work load. In fact, a job well done is when a client has an “aha moment” or says they didn’t know they could be so relaxed on event day!
Running, chardonnay & Neil Diamond are three of Jennifer’s favourite things! She is calm, detail-oriented, competitive and a complete perfectionist. Building relationships with clients and volunteers is what she loves to do and she enjoys teaching people how to do the same thing with their donors, sponsors and event guests through marketing, communication and stewardship.
Jennifer has a Commerce degree from the University of Guelph in Hotel and Food Administration along with a Degree from Humber College in Fundraising & Volunteer Management. Her strong understanding of fundraising and events, helps her understand the struggles clients have. Jennifer’s entire career has been in the not for profit and fundraising world. She worked for the Canadian Cancer Society running all client programs and then worked in hospital fundraising and event management.
You can count on Jennifer to always find a way to make something happen; and as an event professional, she has seen and done it all!
In her spare time, when she’s not working on communications plans, marketing strategies or scheduling volunteers, you can find her with husband Ron (and coffee) at the hockey rink, dance studio and baseball diamond, cheering on their kids Carter & Kennedy; and if you have ever been on a conference call with Jennifer, you have probably heard her 90 lbs Bernese Mountain dog Rubi (because Rubi barks at everything!).
Jennifer’s favourite parts of her job are teaching clients about best practices, hearing the final amount of money raised the night of an event and having clients feel stress free – knowing Our Forté’s got it!
Oh my gosh she's back again! (did we get the backstreet boys stuck in your head?) We love her so much we couldn't keep her away from Our Forté!
With over 10 years of fundraising experience, Jackie brings energy, problem solving and her creative knack to the Our Forté team.
Whether she is helping keep track of ticket sales and auction items, or even designing an event program, Jackie gets things done with her positive attitude and keen interest in our clients and projects.
We often refer to Jackie as our inner Google - if a project, task or program isn't working and we need to find a solution, Jackie is our go to. And 99% of the time her creativity, talent and crazy brain figures it out.
Along with Our Forté, Jackie is the proud owner of Fox Media Management. She offers graphic design, website creation and any print media needs.
I guess what we are saying is ... Jackie is our best kept secret.
